PHOENIX (March 22, 2017) –The Arizona Broadcasters Association (ABA) is proud to report the latest AZ AMBER Alert statistics and announce open registration for the 13th Annual Broadcasters AZ AMBER Alert Golf Classic. The ABA is the sole funding mechanism for the AZ AMBER Alert program.

The AZ AMBER Alert system assists with the recovery of abducted children and saving those in harm’s way. Since its inception in 2002 AZ AMBER Alert, in partnership with law enforcement, ADOT, the Arizona Lottery and AlertSense, has recovered children in 91 out of 92 activations. There have been eight activations since March of 2016 all successfully assisting in a recovery. Nationally, there have been 868 successful activations as of February 23, 2017.

The AZ AMBER Alert can continue to exist through funding from the annual golf classic. Those interested have the opportunity to purchase an individual playing spot or a foursome. Sponsorships are also available at a range of prices shown below. In addition to raising funds for AZ AMBER Alert, the ABA’s annual golf tournament supports ASU, NAU and UofA broadcast scholarship funds, the ASU Summer High School Broadcast Institute and the NAU Andy Harvey Native American High School Institute.
